Recently, Lafayette Township Board of Trustees approved the purchase of a used zodiac boat. The boat will be used for water operations on Chippewa Lake. The boat, a 1989 Zodiac Hurricane 530, was purchased from BLM Yacht Sales LDT out of Swansea, MA. The boat is 17 feet long and includes a center console, hard bottom, and a 1998 90-horse power outboard motor as well as 2005 trailer used for transporting the unit. In addition, Lafayette Twp. Firefighter’s Association has agreed to donate $1000 towards equipping the unit.

LTFD Revamps Mission Statement

Recently, LTFD Officers met in a regular monthly session. One of the items on the agenda was our mission statement. LTFD believes that our mission statement should not only reflect who we are and what we do, but it should also be something easy to remember. A few personnel who make up the department’s Planning Committee suggested the new Mission Statement to department officers and it was approved at the April 2014 Officer’s Meeting.
